Chris Coutu, PE | Chief Engineer/President


Chris has extensive experience in the assessment and evaluation of existing structures. He has designed both temporary and permanent repairs to older structures for renovation and repair projects. He has provided consulting engineering work for universities, pharmaceutical companies, industrial manufacturing companies, and government agencies. He has investigated numerous structural failures and has presented seminars on ASCE-7 Wind Loading and Structural Collapse.

Kelli Wilcox, PE, RRC | Senior Partner/Vice President


Since the start of her career, Kelli has applied her architectural engineering background to a wide variety of projects including repair and replacement design and construction administration services for roofing, exterior walls, and above and below grade waterproofing; building condition assessments, code compliance evaluations, facility asset management programs, and special structural inspections during construction. She has performed these services for public and private clients responsible for educational, industrial, institutional, commercial, government, pharmaceutical, and residential facilities.

Tom Caldwell, PE | Senior Partner


Tom is Atlas’ founder and senior partner, specializing in assessing and repairing damaged buildings and structures. He deals with structural damage caused by fire, explosion, earthquake, and wind, but also addresses  more common building ailments. Tom deploys with FEMA and State disaster response teams for rescue and recovery, and is on call with other agencies for structural expertise after damage events. He teaches and lectures on topics including disaster mangement and emergency engineering.

Mike Riccitiello, PE, PMP | Operations Manager


Mike’s passion is to build and lead teams of skilled professionals with high standards of honesty and integrity. His expertise is in operations management, handling both commercial and Federal clients. With a background in civil site design, he also specializes in facility maintenance operations, condition assessments, and disaster response operations. His experience includes 10 years in the active-duty Army as an Engineer Officer, and he currently serves in the Army Reserves based out of Fort Bragg. Mike is an on-call Structures Specialist for the State and deploys with disaster response teams for search and rescue.

Rob Tatum, RRC | Senior Designer


Rob’s expertise is in roof and wall system evaluations, quality assurance, moisture intrusion investigation of roof and wall systems, and preparing details plans and specifications for roof and wall systems. He has provided consulting services to public and private clients including institutional facilities, correctional institutions, education facilities, industrial facilities, pharmaceutical facilities, cold storage, and military bases.

Hannah Ford, EI ǀ Staff Engineer


Hannah is a recent graduate from North Carolina State University. Her background focuses on structural design, construction material testing, general contracting practices, and land development/design. Hannah aids Atlas’ principal engineers in the assessment of existing structures, design of building repairs, structural calculations, and project construction administration.

Allison Tice | Staff Engineer

Allison is a graduate of North Carolina State University where she earned a Civil Engineering degree with a concentration in Structural Design. Her passion for service work and engineering challenges led her on many mission trips over the years which provided first-hand experience solving complex problems with minimal resources. Her skills translate well to both field and design work, and she enjoys the unique challenges that come with assessing and repairing existing structures.

Diane Gilmore | Business Manager

With her background in budget and account management at NC State and most recently at a non-profit, Diane runs our financial and human resources departments. Having a passion for health and being a Certified Personal Trainer, in her downtime she has worked at the YMCA in several positions including as an instructor for the LiveStrong program that helps cancer survivors get back into an exercise routine.

Lee Dingle, PE

August 24, 1981 – July 19, 2019

Former president of Atlas Engineering, Lee Dingle was tragically killed on July 19, 2019 in an accident while on vacation with his family. He graduated from NC State University’s Civil Engineering department in 2004 and earned the General Hugh Shelton Undergraduate Leadership Award of Excellence. He joined Atlas Engineering immediately after college where his leadership and engineering skills allowed him to prosper.
